Community Scholars Program Now Accepting Applications

Columbia's Community Scholars Program gives independent scholars from Northern Manhattan access to University services and resources that allow them to work toward the completion of a project or help them attain a specific skill. During the three-year program scholars can use a wide range of University programs to advance and enrich their work. This year's application deadline is May 1st!

Local High School Students Connect to the Classics

Summer 2020 applications are now vaialble for the Freedom & Citizenship program, which gives local students the chance to learn from Columbia professors. A free program for rising juniors, it also provides an introduction to on-campus living and college application support.

'USA Today' and Community Scholar Discuss Dyslexia

Columbia Community Scholar Debbie Meyer and her son Isaac were featured in a USA Today story that focused on the barriers faced by those struggling with reading, compared Meyer's experience to other families, and looked at policies that undermine those with dyslexia.
